חוֹרְבָּן, חָרְבָּןm. (v. preced.) destruction, desolate condition. Hag. 5b חָרְבַּןבה״מ the destruction of the Temple. M. Kat. 26a בחוֹרְבָּנָן in their ruined state. Y.Kil.4 end, 29c בחוֹרְבָּנוֹ in its (the vineyards) waste state, opp. מַטָּעָה. Ab. Zar.9b לח׳ הבית from the destruction of the Second Temple. Yoma 39b; a. fr.Pl. חוֹרְבָּנוֹת, חָרְ׳. Gen. R. s. 56; Yalk. Gen. 102 שהיתה … בשני ח׳ for she (Palmyra) took a part in both destructions of the Temple; Lam. R. to II, 2 בשתי ח׳ (fem.).
